Witness History as it comes back to life during re-creations of Historical Battles of The War for Southern Independence with Infantry, Cavalry and Artillery. Medical and Civilian exhibits. See camp life of Soldiers during the Nation’s Bloodiest War. Watch as 100’s of soldiers stand shoulder to shoulder and blaze away at their enemy. Food, Sutlers, Vendors, Local Crafts, Local Bluegrass Musicians will provide entertainment. Saturday Night Bluegrass Pickin’, Sunday Morning Church Service, 1860’s Fashion Show and more. Saturday Evening meal, ice, water, straw and firewood provided by SCV Camp 379, “The McDowell Men”, to all pre-registered participants. Flat camping areas. Some modern intrusions but we’re working on that. “Best Looking Camp” and “Best Company Drill” competition with prizes. Half the proceeds will go toward the re-construction of Pre-Revolutionary War site, Davidson’s Fort. Half the proceeds will go toward “The McDowell Men” Camp 379 McDowell County Confederate Veterans Headstone Project. Money well spent to help save our Heritage and Culture.
